Wednesday 4 March 2026 Class 6 - Mock Jury Trial Class 6 have had a fabulous opportunity this year to be visited by a local magistrate. Working in class with him, they have learnt more about the justice system and how jury trials work. A group of children were chosen to be part of a mock jury trial competition hosted by Waterloo Primary School. What a fantastic opportunity! We are very proud of our children for representing St James' so well.

Thursday 26 February 2026 Class 3 - artist visit Class 3 were treated to an art workshop with local artist, Jojo Hayfron, today. They have shared their ideas and imagination to decorate 6ft tulips which will be part of a special new sculpture trail in Ashton-under-Lyne. What an honour!

Wednesday 25 February 2026 Chinese New Year - Early Years Our reception and nursery children have had a fantastic time learning about the celebration of Chinese New Year this week. Mr David very kindly shared his time and told reception all about the festival and gave them each a special red envelope. Nursery made an incredible Chinese dragon that danced around their classroom.

Tuesday 17 February 2026 Speech and language and health visitor drop in for parents/carers The Children's Speech & Language Therapy & Health Visiting Services are launching an exciting new opportunity for parents to ask for advice and support about their child's play, talking and understanding. Parents will be able to come to the soft play at Denton Wellness Centre to meet a Speech & Language Therapist and Health Visitor on a Thursday morning from Thursday 26th February.
